The role of parents as the primary educators of their children is an important one and it is for this reason that Catholic schools establish and support school parent associations in all schools. The PTA provides a further avenue for parents to be involved in the education of their children. This is achieved by supporting the school community including teachers, staff, children and parents.
Membership of the Prouille PTA includes all parents, guardians and teachers within the school community. The PTA Executive is composed of the School Principal, Deputy Principal, Parish Priest, and parents elected to various offices. The role of the PTA includes:
Supporting the school's mission.
Contributing and assisting in the building of the school and parish community.
Facilitating social activities.
Arranging fundraising to provide additional funds for school needs.
Assisting school upkeep with working bees, etc.
A forum for parents to voice issues or concerns they may have.
The Executive meets monthly to discuss how education within the school is operating and provide parent feedback on this. Also discussed are the operations of the PTA and specific ways the PTA can further support the school.
The PTA also organise forums open to all to discuss specific topics and to raise any other topics for discussion.
This Year the PTA set our primary objective as ?Community?. For the year we have focussed on strengthening the relationships within the school by providing the opportunity to bring parents and teachers together.
